About the Item
An Italian carved-wood curule stool, with upholstered seat, from the mid 20th century. This mid-century stool from Italy has been created in the Curule (or often referred to as Dante) style, featuring legs comprised of two half-moon shapes, which attach at their rounded peaks at middle, and adorn with a carved repeating entwined circular trim-shaped and floral medallion where they meet at the front center. The upper half-moon continues above the seat to create the support for the flute-carved spindle that makes up the arms, and have floral medallions capping the ends at each side. The seat has a removable pillow-style cushion with Napoleonic bee design, and appears to be in good/usable condition with some slight staining. The wood retains its original green/gold finish. This Italian dante stool will be a luxurious seating option that is versatile enough be used in numerous areas throughout your home.
