About the Item

This elegant mid-century French stool was crafted circa 1970 in the Louis XIII style and reflects a faithful revival of early French classical forms. Constructed of solid beechwood, the piece features finely turned legs joined by robust stretchers with square knuckle blocks, all resting on small bun feet. The warm, medium-brown patina highlights the grain of the wood and gives the stool a sense of age and presence reminiscent of an antique original. The generously proportioned rectangular seat is upholstered in a traditional tapestry-style textile depicting a lush pastoral landscape with trees, foliage, and distant architectural elements, finished with decorative nailhead trim along the apron.
