About the Item

Mid-Century Modern bamboo stool by Franca Helg for Bonaccina, in excellent condition Measures cm: H 75, W 45, D 45. About Franca Helg Franca Helg was born in Milan in 1920 and was an Italian architect and designer. After graduating from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1945, Franca Helg was immediately active in both the field of architectural design and industrial design. Of particular importance is her collaboration with Franco Albini with whom she was professionally associated for a long time from 1951 until Albini's death in 1977. She subsequently worked with Marco Albini and Antonio Piva. She was assistant to the chair of Architectural Composition held by Lodovico Barbiano di Belgiojoso, first at the University Institute of Architecture of Venice (IUAV) and subsequently at the Polytechnic of Milan; she later obtained the liberal teaching qualification in 1967 teaching the same discipline, of which she became full professor in 1984.
