Nanna Ditzel for R. Wengler, stool, rattan, Denmark, designed 1961, manufactured 1960s-1970s Lovely stool designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1961, combining playful design with functional versatility. The stool has an organic shape and can be conveniently tucked away in a corner or be the center of the interior. The rattan work was crafted by R. Wrengler, a well-known Danish wicker expert and pioneer. Wrengler frequently collaborated with leading designers and architects, including Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel, Arne Jacobsen, and Viggo Boesen, to create innovative woven and wicker pieces. Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) was a Danish furniture designer and architect known for her innovative and iconic designs. Her work revolutionized modern furniture by blending functionality with elegant and organic forms. With an avant-garde approach, Ditzel challenged traditional norms and created pieces that embodied both comfort and aesthetics. Her contributions to the design world continue to inspire many, leaving an indelible mark on contemporary furniture design.
