Pair of Mid-Century Modern adjustable swivel fir screw stools, Italy, 1960s.
These sculptural wooden stools feature a solid fir construction with a central screw mechanism that allows the seat height to be easily adjusted. Their three-leg base and curved lines recall the iconic tripod stools designed by Charlotte Perriand for the Les Arcs resort, blending functional minimalism with a warm, natural texture.
Crafted in Italy during the 1960s, each stool showcases fine woodworking and the typical balance of utility and organic form found in Italian mid-century design. The central threaded shaft provides smooth rotation and stability, making the stools practical for seating or display use in living rooms, studios, or mountain interiors.
Both pieces remain in excellent structural condition, with minor surface wear consistent with age and use. The swivel and screw adjustment mechanisms operate perfectly.
