Designed by Sandin
Bülow for Materia in 2001, this Plint stool exemplifies the Scandinavian approach to ergonomic and flexible seating. Produced in Sweden in 2002, the piece features the model’s distinctive narrow seat, upholstered in smooth red leather, supported by a minimalist white lacquered steel frame. Its sculptural yet functional form encourages varied sitting postures, reflecting the principles of human-centered design typical of early 2000s Scandinavian furniture.
The Plint series — which includes bar stools, benches, and rocking benches — quickly became a Materia classic and was included in the Stockholm Nationalmuseum’s Modern Design Collection in 2003. The model’s softly curved seat and balanced proportions make it ideal for contemporary interiors, workspaces, or creative environments seeking a pop of color and refined minimalism.
Good vintage condition with light patina and minor wear to the frame consistent with age and use.
