Stool with mahogany structure, the legs ending in scrolls. Upholstered with silk woven by Maison Prelle, after a fabric design by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann. Stamped 'Porteneuve'
Alfred Porteneuve (1896-1949) was a French interior designer and furniture maker of the Art Deco period, having worked under the so-called godfather of Art Deco, Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann. Porteneuve later started his own furniture house, where he designed and created his own pieces with luxurious materials and expert craftsmanship.
