Rustic, Primitive, Wabi Sabi, Antique, Naive Vintage Stool/Table, England, c19th Century. A rustic stool which would also serve as a side/coffee table. Sitting on four splayed chamfered legs and formed of elm, the piece has a great aesthetic. Dating from the 1800s/early 1900s. Befitting of interiors that blend pieces of different styles and ages, the piece would work equally well in a contrasting modern interior as well as traditional and also one that harnesses the stripped-back, primitive, rustic, wabi-sabi aesthetic that is so on trend currently and embraces and helps us see natural beauty in imperfection. The piece has great patina that only the nature of the material and time can produce. Condition: The piece naturally shows wear commensurate with its age and the practical use it would have once served. Some of the age characteristics to be expected are no longer active woodworm, some slight losses and imperfections - as there are minimal fixings, there may be little wobbles.
