Past, present and future come together in this sculptural piece by Spinzi. Why you may ask? Because Medusa is shaped after a dream had by designer Tommaso Spinzi right after coming back to Italy after a decade spent in Melbourne. A dream of Australian jellyfishes - "meduse" in Italian - swimming in the waters of his native Lake Como.
Those vivid images have been sculpted out of solid marble, a timeless, elegant and sinuous material. Each Medusa is unique, as the shades and veins of marble change from block to block; it is a very heavy and outstanding piece of design, but its rounded lines and mesmerizing texture allow it to blend effortlessly with the room.
It is made in two pieces, so it's easier to transport and elements of different colours can be mixed up. The version pictured in the listing, crafted from Kenya Zebra Marble, is available on request , The veins and color shades will might be different compare ti the image because every piece is carved directly from a Blok of stone and of course it s impossible reproduce exactly the same look. ...
