X STOOL
Structure softened through craft
The X Stool is a refined study in architectural balance, where structure and softness meet in a
compact, sculptural form. At its core is a generously rounded upholstered seat cushion, measuring 18
inches in diameter. The cushion features a softly domed top and extends downward into the base,
creating a seamless transition between comfort and structure.
Beneath the seat, a sculpted X-shaped base forms four articulated legs, giving the stool a grounded
yet dynamic stance. The geometry feels architectural, but never rigid—its proportions carefully
calibrated for everyday use.
A steel ring intersects the four legs, serving as a functional footrest while reinforcing the piece’s visual
rhythm. Available in gunmetal or oil-rubbed bronze, the metal introduces a quiet contrast to the
warmth of the wood. Where the ring passes through the legs, the wood is precisely routed, creating a
deliberate recess that highlights craftsmanship and material intention rather than surface decoration.
