This elegant and sophisticated pair of Italian stools features a round seat and a sturdy, solid ebonized wood structure. The legs, which have a tapered round section, are connected beneath the seat by two intersecting crossbars, supporting the cushioned base.
These stools were crafted between 1958 and 1960 in one of the many artisanal workshops in Lissone (Monza-Brianza, Italy), a town renowned for its high-quality woodworking. The artisans aimed to create compact yet comfortable and intimate seating, giving the stools a timeless originality while following the design trends of the era. The contrast between the rigidity of the wooden frame and the soft warmth of the upholstered seat enhances their unique appeal.
We have carefully restored the seats by replacing the padding and upholstery. The master craftsman who carried out the work selected a refined, high-end fabric: a white velvet flocked Moiré with an innovative black pattern, produced by the prestigious textile company Dedar.
Dedar is a historic textile manufacturer based in Lombardy, Italy, known for its excellence in craftsmanship and expertise in creating exclusive and original fabrics. The company expresses a distinctive style, continuously pushing the boundaries of luxury interior design. Specializing in high-end fabrics and wallpapers, Dedar is renowned for its refined aesthetics, meticulous attention to detail, and use of premium materials. Their extensive collection includes upholstery fabrics, draperies, sheers, trimmings, and an exclusive selection of wallpapers. The company’s Italian design and style are internationally recognized. In the photos, any perceived irregularities or discolorations on the white fabric are not defects but rather the stunning and fascinating reflections characteristic of the Moiré finish. With their unique features, these stools bring elegance and charm to any space, seamlessly blending style with comfort.
