About the Item

This iconic mid-century modern swivel chair, known as the "Mandariini" (Mandarin) chair, was designed by Carl Gustaf Hiort af Ornäs for Puunveisto Oy in Finland. The chair features an elegantly sculpted, organic seat shell upholstered in vibrant Hallingdal fabric by Kvadrat, a textile originally designed by Nanna Ditzel. Its vivid orange hue highlights the chair’s curvaceous form, while the wooden X-base provides stability and contrast. A true statement piece of Scandinavian design from the 1950s–60s. It is in very good restored condition.
