About the Item
Very rare original Biedermeier Swivel or Revolving Bergere Chair from South Germany about 1820.
Cherry veneered on softwood and solid wood. Base on four solid legs with veneered frame.
The seat rotates 360 degrees with original old iron metal swivel mechanism, which is very rare from this period.
Newly upholstered with black velvet fabric and double keder. Restored and hand polished with shellac, ebonized edge.
