About the Item

21st c., custom wingback chair of a classic design with modern touches. It is upholstered in cream fabric, outlined with brass nail head trim that adds a decorative yet traditional accent. The high back and curved wings provide a distinctive silhouette that harkens back to 17th-century English designs intended to shield the sitter from drafts. The chair’s carved wood legs, especially the cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carvings, suggest a style inspired by Rococo or Louis XV influences. These intricate details give the chair a stately presence, with the ball-and-claw feet further enhancing its appeal.
