Antique Leather Chippendale Style Wingback Chair with Hand-Carved Claw Feet

About the Item

Rare and great shape leather wingback chair. Unfortunately we don't know where this large and majestic looking wingback chair was made, but we assume it is British. It is beautiful both in shape and color and the hand-carved inserts going from the ends of the armrests to the outer sides of the seat are just some of the elements that make this rare model really stand out. This is the kind of quality that was built to last, because this chair is as stabile as the day it was made and apart from one near tear (best seen in image 10), the leather too is in excellent condition. The solid wooden, nutty color base with the hand-carved claw feet is just perfect for this grand chair. Apart from the shape, the other most important thing about an antique chair is its color and the combination of the nutty colored wood and the patina of the antique leather really is a treat. The shape of this chair with the reclined back makes it incredibly relaxed and comfortable to sit in. There is only one thing that may need some attention and that is this: I weigh circa 190 pounds lbs and when I sit in this chair it is very comfortable, but I can feel that the right side of the seat has a little less suspension than the left. Maybe this is not an issue when you are lighter in weight, but it needs to be mentioned. Obviously, it is possible to get under the seat from the bottom and have it fixed (if necessary). We have decided to leave it as is and sell this amazing antique chair at an extra sharp price. Again great value for money and delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days is complimentary.
