About the Item

A rare Vladimir Kagan for American Leather ‘Fiftyish’ wingback chair based on his winged barrel-form designs from the 1950’s with Kagan-Dreyfuss. This perfect balance of midcentury modern style and postmodern appeal, the chair has been reupholstered by the Selby House in a Zak + Fox alpaca wool and cotton blend. The Name “A winged sofa and chair from 2002 were both manufactured by American Leather and based on Kagan designs from the fifties. They were appropriately named “Fiftyish”. Signed with manufacturing labels and American Leather badge on the lower right side by the aluminum legs. Documented in the book: “The Complete Kagan; A Lifetime of Avant-Garde Design.”
