About the Item
Grand pair of french mahogany bergere á oreilles or wingback chairs made in the Louis XVI taste. The chairs feature tall carved frames with gracefully curved wings. The generous seat is fitted with a loose seat cushion and padded arms measuring 24.5 inches high. The frames are upholstered with a rich cognac orange velvet mohair fabric. The fabric while vintage still shows very well and is very presentable having a patinated brass nail head border. The seat is supported by fluted, tapered legs with rosettes on the top in the neoclassical taste. The wing chairs are sturdy and solid having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The large profile is grand in scale with arched crest rails on the top of the chairs. Sold as a pair.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Age appropriate wear with minor chips, scuffs, and light scratches that are difficult to see. Vintage fabric is slightly faded with small indentations, but good, presentable condition.
