About the Item
Amazing pair of country French provincial or Louis XV style wingback armchairs crafted from walnut. The chairs are constructed from walnut with gracefully curved large wings and a generous seat. The chairs have been restored and reupholstered in the past and now have a botanical foliate ivy leaf vine pattern upholstery in an x-form lattice pattern with a double welt border. The vintage fabric appears to be from Duponi in a silk blend with a subtle sheen. The padded arms measure 25 inches high. The seat is fitted with a thick, loose seat cushion. The chairs are very comfortable with a solid, sturdy frame and strong joinery. The walnut has a desirable aged patina with old chips and scuffs that commensurate their age and use. Handsome profile and large scale. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Sold as a pair.
