This beautiful teak and fabric model #91 'Papa Bear' wingback armchair and ottoman by Svend Skipper for Skipper Mobler was designed and made in the 1960s and professionally reupholstered in a soft, comfortable and attractive fabric in 1984 per the renovation label found under the seat. This wingback lounge chair and ottoman were designed around the same time as the Hans Wegner Papa Bear chair and shares many design similarities. This elegant Danish modern 'Papa Bear' club chair and ottoman by Svend Skipper for Skipper Mobler would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Postmodern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Was reupholstered in 1984 per the renovation label under the chair. Fabric is clean without major issues, just light wear. Wood legs and arms are in good condition and sturdy and structurally sound. Can be used immediately in a vintage setting or reupholstered to suit.
