About the Item
Paulo Alvez green duck LINA wing chair and ottoman 44" h x 32" w x 35" d
Ottoman 16" h x 20" w x 17" d
The Lina Armchair produced by Empório das Cadeiras is a tribute to the Italian-Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi, for whom Paulo Alves has deep admiration. He worked in her office, but never met her professionally, as she was already ill. Thus, he participated in the creation of the first inventory of her work and came across drawings and works that no one had ever seen before.
Architect and designer, Paulo Alves worked at the Bardi Institute, integrating the research team for the production of the book and exhibition about Lina Bo Bardi after her death in the 1990s. The architect's legacy influences Paulo's creative thinking, whose furniture, manufactured in his woodwork and exhibited in his shop on the av. São Luís, in São Paulo, prioritize wood and its natural characteristics.
Over the years, Paulo has been recognized with awards such as 1st Place at the Museu da Casa Brasileira (Cadeira Atibaia, 2009), 1st Place at Salão Design Movelsul (Cadeira Atibaia, 2010), 2nd Place at Museu da Casa Brasileira (Banco Charlotte, 2012), as well as multiple finalist honors at the Museu da Casa Brasileira and Prêmio Casa e Jardim. His commitment to sustainable wood management and to showcasing Brazil’s vast variety of native species reinforces his belief that “wood is our ultimate raw material.”

Mid Century 366 Armchair in Green Velvet, by Jozef Chierowski, Europe, 1960s
By Jozef Chierowski
Located in 05-080 Hornowek, PL
The 366 armchair is an icon of the polish design of the PRL period.
The famous armchair was designed in 1962 by the Polish interior designer and furniture designer Jozef Marian Chierowski. Produced in the Lower Silesian Furniture Factory in Swiebodzice.
The chair has a simple, modernist form. It consists of an upholstered seat combined with a wooden backrest. The organic shape is typical of the 1960s style.
The chair is very ergonomic and comfortable, as the furniture designs of that time were largely focused on the user. Due to its small size, the furniture fits perfectly into the interiors of contemporary apartments, perfectly meeting the needs of customers.
The chair is in perfect condition after a professional renovation. We can prepare this set also in another wood and fabric color.
About the fabric:
This is special collection of velvet in a stunning color range of more than 100 different shades of both pure classic and non-obvious pastel broken colors. The colour palette has been created with extreme attention following the most recent trends. The unique feature of this fabric is its producing in nanotechnologies, so called WATER CLEAN, which gives it a high resistance to stains and facilitates the removal of stains from coffee, chocolate and even ink. This fabric is a perfect imitation of cotton velvet, gives the effect of softness and matte surface which works very well in heavy curtains...
