We truly come across great objects of history as you are seeing right now. Acquired from an fine collection (other pieces to follow) from an estate on the East Coast. This cabinet is an exceptional example made by W.C. Heller and company that started in 1891 in Montpelier, OH . We understand that it should have been used in a hardware or drug store starting in 1907 to 1910. The richness of the oak, brass hardware and the absolutely gorgeous tin patina backing inside the cabinet comes from almost 110 years of loving care. Please take note of the tin backing with the beautiful hues of dark brown, dark reds and blackened tin that all swirl together, really outstanding. Every piece on the cabinet is original with 6 adjusting thick oak shelves in three top sections and 45 drawers on the lower part. The cabinet is in two pieces, full top and bottom. The workmanship of the oak beveled doors of the cabinet are the true marvel as well as the blackened iron hardware that controls them. As you can see or imagine they can open in two ways. The cabinet doors can open from side to side to allow you to move easily from behind a counter, as in a drug or hardware store without hitting them when fully opened and moving about quickly. Please take note of the images of the doors. The cabinet is perfect to be used as loft room divider, study, amazing kitchen cabinet, really cool hotel back bar or display case, just to name a few ways it can be utilized.
