1822 Painted Tyrolean Chest Measurements: H. 52 cm - W. 125 cm - D. 60 cm Period: 1822 Origin: Tyrol Wood: Fir Description: Tyrolean chest, painted in teal. On the front it has the classic division of space into three main panels, two brick red and a central one in ochre-brown, containing floral decorations. In the upper part of the panels there are pleasant carving and fretwork motifs, in the shape of tassels and drapes, which soften the entire structure. The sides are also decorated with floral motifs, while the top retains only a few traces of the original painting. The chest was also used as a seat, and this explains the absence of decorations on the top. Original lock present but not working. Partially restored furniture. Restoration information Our laboratory guarantees conservative restoration for each piece of furniture while respecting its integrity. Each piece of furniture is treated to ensure solidity and hygiene. In particular, the following are performed: - structural restoration - careful anti-woodworm treatment - cleaning and sanitization of the interior - external finish with natural beeswax - internal finish with shellac (natural alcohol-based varnish) Upon request, we can agree on the desired level of restoration and the customization of the interior layout (clothes hanger poles, shelves, etc.).
