About the Item

Magnificent and rare Dutch Colonial VOC coffer or chest. Striking Dutch design from the 18th Century. Solid amboyna wood with original bronze / brass mounts and hinges and handles. Original lock and key are in good working order. Most likely manufactured in Batavia now known as Jakarta or Sri Lanka. This wonderful Dutch Colonial VOC coffer or chest was specially made for a Dutch VOC official and is in very good refinished condition with a beautiful patina. A real eye-catcher in your home.We will ship this lovely piece in a custom made wooden crate for safe transport when purchased by overseas buyers!
