Crafted in Paris, France circa 1870 and built of poplar with a patinated walnut finish, the trunk with side leather handles features decorative brass mounts in the corners, wood bands wrapping the front, top, and sides, and is further accented with aged brass nailheads. The facade includes a working lock mechanism and a prominent “L. J.” monogram formed in nailhead detail. The domed top opens to reveal a luxurious interior lined in rose moiré damask fabric, adorned with floral motifs and crisscross ribbon ties on the lid.
