About the Item

Hand painted small Swedish trunk circa 1877. Good quality piece of rustic Swedish furniture, offering plenty of opportunities for storage in multiple rooms around the home, such as bedroom storage or even as a coffee table, due to it's flat lid. Original blue paint, initialled and dated 1877 on the lid. Original hinges, carrying handles and metal corner braces. Lid opens to reveal and unpainted pine interior which contains a fiited candle box, raised on 4 turned feet. Minor losses to woodwork and fading/rubbing to paint, expected very minor shrinkage between planks to lid, lock present but no key. Strong and sturdy and ready for everyday use.
