About the Item
This beautiful antique bridal chest dates from 1911 and features highly decorative painting. This piece originates from Romania and is a stunning example of folk art from that period. It was once customary to give bridal furniture like this to the couple at a wedding. These pieces were later placed in a stateroom on the farm, rarely used for distinguished guests or special occasions. All our bridal chests have been inspected and restored where necessary, while retaining the characteristic appearance of these pieces. This chest has undergone some repairs to the bottom, and the entire piece has been treated for woodworm and treated with beeswax. This piece is primarily decorated with floral paintings, with a love heart in the center.
