An Indonesian late 19th century coffer from Sumatra with carved geometric motifs, scrolling patterns and original finish. Hand carved in Sumatra during the 19th century, this unusual carved coffer features a rectangular lid opening up to reveal a large storage compartment ideal to store blankets or linens. The façade attracts our attention with its skillfully executed décor depicting scrolling foliage, flowers and geometric, carved in low relief. Showcasing its original finish and iron hardware, this Sumatran late 19th century carved coffer will be a great addition to any bedroom or living room.
