About the Item

Swedish mid 19th century hand painted dome top chest circa 1846. Beautiful dome top chest, which was clearly cherished by the level of decoration.  Initialled on the front and dated 1846, surrounded by hand painted florals.  Interior with original hand painted inscription to the lid, complete with fitted candle box. Original hinges and strap work, original lock is present but not fitted because there is no key. Standing on painted plinth base. Expected wear, minor age splits. Evidence of previous dead inactive treated worm.
