Damascus mother of pearl inlaid wooden wedding or dowry chest. The trunk is profusely inlaid with intricate geometric and floral designs in mother of pearl with the intarsia method. The lid lifts to reveal two small compartments within a larger storage chest.
Provenance: From the Estate of Horst Rechelbacher, Osceola, Wisconsin.
Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients, was a pioneer in the field of safe and eco-friendly cosmetics.
