About the Item

Quality 19th-Century Victorian Figured Mahogany Breakfront 3-Door Library Bookcase A fine quality 19th century Victorian period figured mahogany breakfront three door library bookcase, England, circa 1880. The upper section has an ogee moulded cornice over three original arched glazed doors, opening to adjustable shelves, ideal for displaying books, porcelain, or other treasured pieces. Below, the base is fitted with panelled mahogany cupboard doors enclosing a combination of fitted mahogany drawers and adjustable shelves, all raised on an integral moulded plinth base. The top internal drawer is stamped “James Winter Sons, 151, 153, 155 Wardour St, Soho, London”, confirming a respected London maker. The bookcase retains its original keys and fully working locks.
