About the Item
Beautiful antique teak colonial bookcase in Globe Wernicke style. It is a stackable cabinet consisting of six sections. The sections are beautifully deep and tall, with four drawers underneath. In beautiful, completely original condition. Lovely patina. The glass is also original. An old repair is present, see photo.
The cabinet originates from colonial India, Calcutta to be precise. Calcutta used to be home to many English administrators. This type of furniture was often made locally for the English.
