A rare set of antique cast iron archival library bookcases by Snead. these impressive cast iron bookcases adjustable steel shelves were the standard in the late 19th and early 20th century for library and archival storage, and were used by the Library of Congress, the National Archives, the NY Public Library as well as many University Libraries. The set pictured has three bays front and back side,, can also be used as a room divider., Retains it's original DISTRESSED finish / patina. also retains its original 4-section base and single top..
