This is an antique country house bookcase. A Scottish, oak library book cabinet in Gothic revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
Fine country house library cabinet, with striking carved appearance
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Superb Scottish oak presents fine grain interest and medullary rays
Rich caramel hues accentuate the beautifully figured stocks
Fascinating arrangement with shelves across the front and to each end
Exceptional carved upper apron with chased oak leaf relief in the Gothic manner
Bold pilasters to each side, adorned with leaf bulb motif
Lower apron adorned with demi-lune carved patterns
This is a delightful antique country house bookcase, with superb Scottish oak radiating fine colour and figuring. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
