About the Item
A superb quality Indian Regency rosewood inverted breakfront bookcase dating to circa 1820. With a stunning pierced scrolling fretwork back with turned finials above a shelf supported by C-scroll supports, the inverted breakfront top above an open front with two adjustable shelves to each section and standing on a plinth base. In good original condition with an overhang to the back to allow for skirting boards, marks commensurate with age and use, some hairline cracks to the veneers and unevenness to the top in two areas, small losses or nibble to veneer edges.
