The maker, Maple
Co., was the world's leading manufacturer of quality furniture towards the end of the Victorian period (around 1880). The firm furnished Tsar Nicholas's Winter Palace, the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, all the major English embassies worldwide, countless country houses, and grand hotels. Everyone of significance at the end of the 19th century had their furniture made by Maple
Co. The quality and craftsmanship of these pieces are exceptionally beautiful.
