About the Item

A fine Edwardian mahogany two door bookcase of neat proportions, with ebonised detail and intricate marquetry inlay throughout depicting Neoclassical motifs featuring an urn, lyres, trailing bell husks, ribbon bow swags, garlands, flowerheads and scrolling detail. The broken swan neck pediment raised over moulded cornice above twin astragal glazed panel doors opening to shelved interior. The bowfront base with two drawer frieze, brass escutcheons and keys raised over panelled cupboard doors opening to reveal shelved interior, supported on moulded plinth base.
