About the Item

Charming 2-body mahogany bookcase dating from the 19th century. The lower part is made up of two doors on either side of a niche open to shelves. Above are 3 drawers. The upper part is made up of 3 glass doors. The whole is sculpted with straight lines and stylized floral motifs. This large piece of furniture is a wonderful french work from the 19th century. The bookcase with glass doors is indeed a typical piece of furniture from the Louis Philippe period. This bookcase is a historic piece, full of charm and elegance. France XIXth century - Louis Philippe period The Louis-Philippe style is between approximately 1830 and 1848. It is a massive and comfortable style, influenced by the Renaissance, the Middle Ages and the Louis XV style, while remaining very close to the Restoration. At this time furniture became industrialized and simplified.
