About the Item

This late nineteenth century French Louis XVI style mahogany bibliotheque or bookcase is finished with bronze banding. Its corners feature bronze fluting and the side panels are also inset with bronze banding. Its two original hand blown glass doors open to reveal an interior with five adjustable shelves. The cabinet rests on classic finial feet. The cabinet measures 39.25 inches wide by 13.25 inches deep. A handsome piece whose simple lines blend with both contemporary and traditional interiors. Includes one key with functioning lock, circa 1880.
