Mid Century bookshelf cabinet sideboard by Herbert E Gibbs, 1960s LARGE VINTAGE 1960S HERBERT E GIBBS MODEL 916 BOOKCASE WITH LOWER CUPBOARD Formed part of Herbert E Gibbs limited edition Autograph range Practical storage pieces like this bookcase will always be put to good use somewhere in the modern home and this is a really fine example, comprised of a large upper bookcase section and a long lower cupboard. Its design is fairly no-nonsense and utilitarian, but the striped wood patination on the lower sliding doors stands out. It is not very deep so maximises if you are tight on space such as in a hallway. A quietly handsome piece, very well-made and robust by British maker, Herbert E Gibbs, it dates from the 1960s and has many more years of service left to give. This eye catching gold signature edition piece has a sleek Danish inspired design and also offers plenty of storage versatility. An iconic mid century item which would make an ideal addition to any room in your home! Features: Two glass doors There are two shelves which are height-adjustable. Lower cupboard doors. Made from teak with glass sliding doors Square shaped Teak hadles It’s a well-made piece from a highly reputable furniture maker and it dates from the late 1960s. Condition: It is in very good, used condition. Top and sides have been restored We have cleaned the bookcase inside The two glass doors slide with ease in their runners and are in very good order.The lower cupboard doors slide with ease and the interior is clean and tidy.
