About the Item
Antique pine bookcases are hard to find so the shell of this piece was provided by a vintage pine armoire. With one board width removed from the sides and the original backboards and crown molding retained, with the two drawers reduced in depth, and, in this case, with the addition of four adjustable shelves mounted on wooden sawtooth track, we get a bookcase which, though not an original antique, has all the characteristics of an old pine piece. Each bookcase is unique. The front corners of this one bear a reeded molding topped with an acorn corbel. It was made from beautiful wood with a great color. The four shelves provide five generous spaces for books or other display.
