About the Item
Vintage bookcase realized in Art Déco style by an italian manufacture in 1970s.
Flamed maple veneer, ebonized wood detailing, and lacquered finish, totally handcrafted.
This striking Art Deco bookcase is inspired by the refined craftsmanship and elegant geometry typical of the 1930s. The structure is composed of rich flamed maple veneer, whose vivid figuring and warm honey tone create a dynamic play of light across its surface. The vertical accents and moldings, executed in ebonized wood, provide a strong contrast that emphasizes the piece’s clean architectural lines.
The design features three central sections with adjustable open shelving, flanked by two narrower side modules. Below, a lower cabinet with four paneled doors offers concealed storage, its minimal knobs and linear black borders adding to the sense of harmony and precision.
The combination of symmetry, functionality, and luxurious materials captures the essence of mature Art Deco design — both decorative and modern in spirit. This piece would have been a focal point in a refined interior, showcasing the high level of woodworking and veneering characteristic of the era.
