About the Item

Buffet hand-made in the Netherlands in the late 1700s using oak. The buffet is large, however the bleached oak gives it an overall light look and the hand-carving soften its rectangular lines. The buffet features a single inset drawer decorated with molding. On each side of the drawer we can find a single-door cabinet with a drawer and a shelf, providing plenty of storage space. The paneling on the front of the doors and under the drawer are all hand-carved and provide depth. On the front corner the buffet is adorned with beautiful hand-carved floral patterns, which is repeated on the block legs as well, giving it a nice balance. The sides are flat and the top is made of two boards with cantered edges. Overall this is a beautiful, large piece that will provide storage space as well as decoration to a living room or dining room. The carving, paneling and grain striation of the bleached oak all add elegant decoration and help softening the overall appearance of this very large piece.
