This elegant, antique fruit wood sideboard was carved in Southern France, circa 1880. The Classic sideboard exemplifies the Louis XV style with a heavy presence, dramatic lines and intricate floral and foliage carvings throughout. The cabinet stands on small cabriole legs ending with escargot feet, over a scalloped apron heavily decorated with a center urn filled with floral and leaf motifs. The cabinet features a pair of drawers across the front dressed with heavy forged iron handles and matching escutcheons (and two fake drawers at the end!), over hand carved laurel and oak branch decor.
