19th century carved oak mirrored sideboard of grand proportions, circa 1860.
Here we present a profusely carved buffet comprising of 4 sections. 2 pedestals, top surface and mirror.
Mirror with shaped cornice, carved figures and foliage. Top surface with carved edge, below which are 3 drawers decorated with carved grotesques and carved birds acting as handles. Each pedestal door decorated with applied carving and fielded panel. Drawer slide to the left and a shelf and drawer to the right, which shows evidence of being lined for use as a cellarette . Each standing on a plinth base.
Minor expected surface fading, losses to carving. Later replaced plate mirror.
