About the Item
19th century oak buffet from France with a beautifully molded and hand carved lunette decorated edge around the top, following down to lovely and simple hand paneled sides and two drawers over two doors in the front, which open to reveal shelving.
The drawer fronts are hand carved decorated with leaves and vines and the lower doors have wonderfully hand carved borders with cushion raised paneled doors. They are truly exceptional!
The doors are flanked on the case by hand carved accents and the piece is raised on bracket feet.

A handsome and sizable solid oak buffet a deux corps (in two sections) with Provincial charm from 19th century France. This four door case antique is split into two bodies: a deeper lower body and a more narrow but tall upper body. The upper cabinet is crowned with a molded cornice above imaginative carvings in the frieze depicting swags and hanging tassels, more in the Louis XVI taste. The upper doors are delightfully paneled and conceal a spacious interior with two removable shelves, approximately 13" deep.
