About the Item
Pickled oak 80s credenza/cabinet featuring carved arched drawer and door fronts. There are three drawers across the top; each drawer has a cabinet below.
A wonderful late 20th century piece, created with heft and quality construction. The spare quality of the hardware-free arches and how each is carried vertically creates a bit of a trompe-l'œil effect, blurring the fact that the piece is wonderful storage. It almost feels sculptural, rather than incredibly functional.
This could be a buffet in a dining room or breakfast area, just as easily serve as a console in an entry hall, or become a bedroom dresser. A really great versatile piece with great presence. We love the pickled finish that lets the oak grain through without the visual weight of a dark wood finish.
We have included a photo of the same cabinet in a dark finish. We can provide refinishing to replicate a natural dark oak aesthetic by request, for an additional fee.
