A composition of stoic geometry, this French sideboard reveals a language of sculptural restraint and architectural rhythm. Executed in solid oak circa 1940, the piece commands presence not through ornament, but through the disciplined repetition of form—monolithic, silent, and assured.
The façade is anchored at either end by storage compartments enclosed behind deeply carved panels—each door incised with intricate, geometric reliefs that speak to a Brutalist sensibility tempered by the refinement of Art Deco. At center, a column of four drawers introduces a measured tempo to the composition.
