Bring timeless Venetian charm to an entryway or dining room with this exquisite painted sideboard from Italy, circa early 20th century. The serpentine-front cabinet features two frieze drawers above paneled doors, each beautifully hand-painted with romantic floral bouquets framed by raised rocaille scrollwork. Additional sprays of flowers decorate the pilasters, drawer fronts, and sides, all rendered in soft tones of rose, blue, and gold over a pale celadon ground.
The shaped wooden top is finished in a richly veined faux marble pattern in ochre and ivory, evoking the warmth of Sienna marble and adding sophistication to the pastel palette. Inside, the cabinet offers generous storage with a single fixed shelf and curved side compartments, ideal for linens, serveware, or barware. The conforming bracket base completes the graceful silhouette.
Retaining its original, intentionally distressed patina, this Italian painted credenza exemplifies the artistry and craftsmanship long associated with Venetian furniture. Excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
