About the Item
An exquisite and most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. flamed Mahogany, Ebonized Fruitwood, ormolu, and white Carrara marble buffet. The two door four drawer buffet is raised by circular tapered fluted legs with fine fitted ormolu sabots and mottled top caps. At the center are two most decorative flamed Mahogany doors showcasing the stunning wood grain framed within a fine wrap around mottled ormolu band with Ebonized Fruitwood at the border. The doors open to reveal one adjustable shelf and an original high quality top to bottom lock. The doors are flanked by elegant opened rounded sides each retaining its original white Carrara marble shelves. At the frieze are four drawers each decorated with lovely richly chased berried laurel pulls framed within a wrap around mottled ormolu band with a most decorative Ebonized Fruitwood border. Above is the original white Carrara marble top with a fine mottled border.
