About the Item
An elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. mahogany, ormolu and marble buffet attributed to Linke. The demi lune shaped buffet is raised by fine circular tapered legs with wrap around ormolu sabots and decorative ormolu top caps. Above the frieze is a delicate ormolu band and three doors. Each door is decorated with richly chased ormolu swaging floral garlands and recessed panels framed in an ormolu band. Above is a wonderful ormolu plaque of cherubs playing outside with musical instruments amidst foliate movements. At each side are swaging floral garlands with tied ribbons set on recessed panels.
